Position Summary
The HVAC Superintendent is responsible for leading and managing field operations on assigned commercial mechanical projects. This role ensures projects are executed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with Advanced UT's standards for quality and professionalism.
Project assignments will be based in the Salt Lake City metro area and surrounding markets.
Key Job Duties

Lead and manage onsite HVAC construction as a unified and collaborative team

Oversee day-to-day field operations on medium to large commercial mechanical projects

Manage foremen, journeymen, apprentices, and subcontractors

Collaborate with the Project Manager to develop and maintain project schedules
-
Prepare and manage two-week look-ahead schedules

Attend project handoff meetings and review scope, plans, specifications, and contract documents
-
Ensure proper installation of all HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, RTUs, chillers, boilers, and VRF systems
-
Enforce Advanced UT safety policies and site-specific safety plans

Conduct weekly toolbox talks and ensure required safety documentation is completed

Submit incident reports and quality documentation in a timely manner
-
Maintain high quality control standards and address deficiencies immediately

Manage project deliveries, laydown areas, and jobsite logistics
-
Submit material requisitions in advance and maintain adequate material inventory onsite
-
Identify tool and equipment needs and coordinate rentals as necessary
-
Maintain accurate Daily Field Logs, manpower reports, and project documentation
-
Utilize mobile technology and construction management tools to track project progress

Assist the Project Manager with job cost tracking, production monitoring, and billing support

Organize and lead weekly coordination meetings with field staff and subcontractors

Track productivity and hold field teams accountable for performance

Participate in project close-out and ensure proper as-built documentation

Maintain a clean, safe, and professional jobsite
Qualifications
-
7+ years of commercial HVAC/mechanical field experience
-
3+ years of leadership experience as a Superintendent or Senior Foreman
-
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and installation practices
-
Proven experience leading crews on ground-up and/or large tenant improvement projects

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

Strong understanding of construction safety, quality standards, and jobsite compliance

Experience coordinating with General Contractors and other trades

Proficiency in Microsoft Office; MS Project experience preferred

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Excellent communication and leadership abilities

Ability to lead, motivate, and develop field personnel

OSHA 30 certification preferred
-
Experience in the Arizona market preferred
