Transportation Driver
Pay: $25.00/hour | Status: Full-Time
About the Role
The Transportation Driver supports the safety, independence, and daily success of individuals served by Home of Guiding Hands. This role is responsible for safely transporting clients to programs, medical appointments, and community activities while providing respectful assistance and ensuring a comfortable, reliable experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate HGH vehicles (10+ passenger buses) on assigned routes
- Assist passengers with boarding, exiting, wheelchairs, and mobility devices
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and maintain vehicle cleanliness
- Follow all safety, CHP, DOT, and agency transportation guidelines
- Communicate delays or route changes promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation and reports
- Provide basic first aid as needed
Qualifications
- Valid California Class A or B Driver’s License with Passenger Endorsement
- Ability to obtain VDDP certificate, CPR, First Aid, and Medical Card (DL-51) within required timeframes
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with passenger transfers
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities preferred (not required)
- Subject to DMV Pull Program and random drug screening
