Pride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a Family Medicine clinic in Chesterfield, MI (48047). This is a 13-week contract opportunity with full-time hours and the possibility of extension.
Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will provide clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a family medicine setting. The role involves direct patient care, documentation, and coordination of clinical workflows to ensure quality, efficiency, and patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform patient intake, including initial-response screening and vital signs documentation in the EHR.
- Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments.
- Assist providers during exams and procedures while maintaining sterile technique.
- Administer oral, parenteral medications, and immunizations as directed by the provider.
- Document patient care accurately in the EHR.
- Perform phlebotomy, collect and process specimens, and conduct CLIA-waived testing.
- Conduct ECGs, respiratory, and other specialty testing as needed.
- Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and equipment in accordance with infection control standards.
- Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and obtain insurance pre-authorizations.
- Provide patient education on health maintenance, treatment plans, and office procedures.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and uphold HFHS standards for safety and excellence.
Qualifications:
Education (One of the following required):
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with completion of a 160-hour externship, OR
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant program with at least 1 year of recent clinical experience, OR
- Certified Medical Assistant with 5+ years of clinical experience, OR
Certifications:
- BLS (Basic Life Support) – Required (AHA Certified)
- CMA, RMA, CCMA, or NCMA certification – Preferred
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant – Required
- Experience with EPIC EMR – Preferred
- Strong communication, multitasking, and patient care skills

*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.
