Position Overview:
This role involves assisting with procedures aimed at analyzing, diagnosing, and treating the cardiovascular system. You will perform specialized imaging tasks, including angiography, complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, as well as neuro-interventional and therapeutic procedures, while supporting the Radiologist/PA.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must work a minimum of 30% of FTE in a secondary modality to qualify for a Multiple Modality position.
- Prepare patients for procedures by reviewing medical histories, positioning them, and preparing testing sites as necessary.
- Interpret, describe, and report test outcomes; identify recording errors and artifacts, responding appropriately.
- Maintain and prepare equipment, supplies, and the lab area, ensuring proper functionality and reporting any issues.
- Contribute to a clean and organized department environment.
- Administer contrast media and medications within the accepted scope of practice and in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Monitor patients during procedures and report any abnormal findings; suggest updates to protocols as needed.
- Adhere to radiation safety protocols and guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory agencies.
- May conduct point-of-care testing as per established policies and procedures.
- Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education:
- Completion of a Cardiovascular or Radiology Technology program.
Experience:
- No prior experience is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Constant standing and walking.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
- Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication.
- Ability to hear body sounds and alarms from equipment.
- Regular lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Frequent lifting and moving of patients.
- Regular reaching, gripping, and data entry tasks.
- Occasional lifting and pushing/pulling of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
- Occasional use of vision to identify and differentiate colors.
- Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
- Rarely kneeling or sitting.
