Salary: 65-70/hr.
Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive medical care to patients, monitor chronic illnesses, and ensure quality healthcare services are delivered according to established policies and protocols.
Key Responsibilities:

Monitor the progress of and intervene in the course of chronic illnesses using ODRC policies and protocols.

Administer vaccinations and prescribe medications or treatments for acute and chronic illnesses.

Conduct minor surgical procedures within the scope of training and competency.

Perform routine physical exams to assess chronic conditions and diagnose new medical issues.

Evaluate patients for specialty referral consultations within or outside the institution and review consultation reports for approval.

Order and review laboratory, x-ray, and other diagnostic tests as necessary.

Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to facilitate medical reclassification and non-formulary medication requests.

Provide routine and emergency medical care to patients as scheduled.

Diagnose and treat patients within the scope of practice as identified by the State of Ohio Nursing Board.

Conduct rounds on infirmary patients as deemed appropriate by the CMO.

Document patient assessments, diagnostic impressions, treatment plans, and follow-up care per ODRC Office of Correctional Healthcare guidelines and American Correctional Association standards.

Cooperate with CMO medical quality oversight, accepting guidance and recommendations.
Qualifications:

Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Ohio.

Strong knowledge of chronic disease management, diagnostics, and treatment protocols.

Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Ability to work collaboratively with medical professionals and support staff.
