Outreach and Training Coordinator Highlights : Hours : 8a – 4pm (30 min lunch)
One in office day per month. Additional minimal travel up to 4 times per year within the Commonwealth.
Pay: 24.00-25.00 per hour
Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, and Short-Term Disability after 90 days
Outreach and Training Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and publish content using AP style and ODP/Governor’s style guide.
- Create brochures, newsletters, reports, infographics, social media posts, and other publications for internal and external use.
- Translate complex information into plain language, accessible to all audiences.
- Design materials that are visually engaging and accessible, including digital and print content.
- Interview stakeholders (individuals, families, staff, providers) to create success stories and articles.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge on policy, trends, and practices in the ID/A field.
- Post content and events to the MyODP website.
- Attend events to engage with community members and gather stories and feedback.
- Assist with creating electronic forms and accessible communications.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to create accessible materials and communicate complex topics clearly.
- Knowledge of intellectual and developmental disabilities, autism, and accessibility best practices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience with communications in a government or public-sector environment is highly preferred.
Preferred Experience:
- Familiarity with ODP, DHS, or other state programs related to developmental services.
- Experience writing for executive leadership (e.g., Deputy Secretary or Director-level staff).
- Comfortable working on deadline and managing multiple projects.
Outreach and Training Coordinator Minimum Qualifications
Master’s or bachelor’s degree is preferred, or substantial work experience in education, public health, or like fieldTwo years of professional experience (and relevant community development or activist experience) in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance
