POSITION SUMMARY - 3rd shift Sunday- Thursday 10:00pm-6:00am
The Compression Molding “C” operator is responsible for the overall quality of the caps, ensuring smooth operation of the machines, adding compound to machines and keeping the area clean and organized.
Repetitive heavy lifting is required.
Typical manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels. Temperatures in the summer months can reach 110 degrees Fahrenheit in the Compression Molding Department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Operate up to 7 molding machines, (if running the Alliance machines, must be authorized).
- Take quality shots every hour and record results on appropriate paperwork.
- Prepare production reports and tickets, confirming that item and ticket match.
- Inspect caps in cooling trays, and remove excess flash.
- Check caps for blisters, burns, cracks, etc. and notify appropriate personnel of the issue (Set-up mechanic, QC, Supervisor).
- Sweep floor in the department throughout the shift, removing flash and caps to prevent slips, trips and falls.
- Add powder to barrels as needed.
- Remove barrels of caps from the department, weighing barrels and taking them to the washer.
- Turn powder off with HMI control screen when machine or quality issues are identified. (Level “C” operators are not permitted to turn powder on).
- Record labor entries and material issue in SAP as needed.
- Clean inside the cage after the machine has been approved to enter by a Setup Mechanic or Supervisor.
- Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
