The Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant (COTA) delivers direct rehabilitation services in occupational therapy to patients referred by physicians, working under the guidance of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT). This role adheres to all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct rehabilitation care in occupational therapy as per physician referrals.
- Collaborate on community health initiatives and projects when applicable.
- Implement and interpret departmental programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain proficiency in all competency areas, including patient rights, safety, and sanitation.
- Ensure confidentiality of all proprietary and sensitive information.
- Understand and comply with organizational policies, including those related to harassment and compliance.
- Exhibit integrity and professionalism by following the organization's Code of Conduct and completing required compliance training.
- Utilize therapy software effectively and accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service and maintain a positive attitude towards patients.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT).
- New graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email communication.
- Familiarity with practices, procedures, and regulations governing post-acute care facilities.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
