Purchasing Agent - Wood Doors

Position Overview
The Purchasing Agent for Wood Doors is responsible for sourcing, acquiring, and managing the procurement of wood doors and related materials. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the company maintains high-quality standards while optimizing costs and supplier relationships in the Division 8 industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate suppliers of wood doors/Hollow Metal Doors and related products.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with the production team to forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Monitor market trends and changes in supplier capabilities to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers in the wood door industry.

Qualifications

  • Hollow Metal Door experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
  • Knowledge of wood products, including hollow metal and doors.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor management.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
