Position Overview
The Purchasing Agent for Wood Doors is responsible for sourcing, acquiring, and managing the procurement of wood doors and related materials. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring that the company maintains high-quality standards while optimizing costs and supplier relationships in the Division 8 industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and evaluate suppliers of wood doors/Hollow Metal Doors and related products.
- Negotiate pricing and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with the production team to forecast demand and ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor market trends and changes in supplier capabilities to inform purchasing decisions.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and manufacturers in the wood door industry.
Qualifications
- Hollow Metal Door experience required.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably in the construction or manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of wood products, including hollow metal and doors.
- Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor management.
- Ability to analyze market trends and make data-driven decisions.
