We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven sales manager to oversee our Kornick & Berliner Monument location in Chicago on Devon Ave. Serving Chicagoland’s Jewish community and families since 1929, we are proud to be the largest family-owned cemetery headstone/monument company in the nation! The ideal candidate must be bilingual in Hebrew and will be responsible for establishing and cultivating relationships with area funeral homes, cemetery sextons and families in order to provide tailored products and services to meet our customers’ needs.
While cemetery memorials are still our primary focus, our product offerings have grown to include commemorative plaques, brick fundraisers, commercial signage, park benches and veterans memorials which this position would be selling and designing for our families/clients. What will you do in this position as Sales Manager?
- Based at our Chicago location on Devon Ave, you will sell our products and services skillfully and successfully to help families while also assisting funeral directors and cemetery sextons with their sales orders.
- Provide superior customer service addressing customer inquiries and concerns with sensitivity and professionalism.
- Create personalized cemetery headstone designs following cemetery regulations and customer input.
- Accurately process sales orders, including specifying all necessary details of materials, style, measurement, finish, and design in our customized state-of-the-art ERP system.
- Follow-up on the status of sales orders, take customer payments; and finalize orders.
- Make follow-up phone calls and send correspondence to prospective customers.
- Visit area cemeteries in designated areas to identify granite to be matched, verify inscriptions, take rubbings and photos in order to complete a sales order.
- Maintain a friendly, professional relationship with funeral directors, their staffs and cemetery personnel.
- Maintain a neat and clean showroom. This includes keeping equipment, displays, promotional material and pricing books in good and current condition.
- Accountable for the general appearance and cleanliness of the showroom, restroom, office and exterior of the building. This includes carpets; walkways; lighting; displays; equipment.
What are we looking for in a Sales Manager?
- Hebrew speaking required along with familiarity with Jewish customs and traditions.
- Previous retail or commission sales required.
- Entrepreneurship mentality taking ownership of the overall success of the location.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Attention to detail and precision in completing tasks.
- Ability to work independently with reliable attendance.
- Strong computer skills (SAP/ERP experience helpful).
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
What do we offer?
- Competitive salary plus commission and bonus with no cap on commission. First year earnings between $55k - $75K.
- Schedule will consist of working 9:00am – 5:00pm five days a week Monday – Thursday and Friday 9:00am -4:00pm.
