Location: Lakewood, CO
Pay Range: $30-$35 per hour
Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire

About the Role

LHH is seeking a highly skilled Payroll Associate to support payroll operations across the U.S. and Canada. This role plays a key part in ensuring timely, accurate payroll processing, supporting cross-functional initiatives, and driving scalable processes across the organization. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in navigating complex payroll environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee payroll processing for all U.S. and Canadian associates, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and adherence to company policies.
  • Lead processing of high-visibility, complex transactions including multi-state adjustments, bonus taxation, retroactive corrections, and year-end reconciliations.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding processes including new hires, terminations, and employee conversions.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports, summaries, and statements.
  • Address associate questions and troubleshoot payroll issues with strong customer service.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams (Tax, People Operations) to support payroll needs for mobility and business activities.
  • Oversee and support internal/external payroll audits to ensure data integrity.
  • Participate in system implementations, integrations, acquisitions, and payroll projects.
  • Maintain accurate timekeeping records through Bullhorn and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with payroll reconciliations and SOP maintenance.
  • Serve as a payroll subject matter expert for internal teams.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience managing payroll for exempt and non-exempt populations; strong understanding of time clock systems.
  • 2+ years of ADP Workforce Now experience required.
  • Experience with MySource HRIS (preferred).
  • Experience with Bullhorn or similar timekeeping systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong numerical aptitude, high attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and data integrity.

Skills & Competencies

  • Expert understanding of federal/state tax withholdings, garnishments, FLSA, wage/hour laws, Social Security, and Medicare withholding.
  • Knowledge of payroll accounting requirements and General Ledger impact.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to interpret and enforce payroll policies, develop processes, and drive efficiency.

Preferred Certifications

  • FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification) - a plus!

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
