Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg position on a Nephrology and Cardiology unit, requiring at least one year of nursing experience and an active NC or compact RN license.
Details
- Acute care setting on a 25-bed Nephrology and Cardiology unit (3 West)
- Patient population includes End Stage Renal Disease, post renal or heart transplant, chest pain pre/post cardiac cath, pacemaker and AICD placement, and autoimmune or connective tissue disorders
- Patient ratio is 1:5
- Day shift, 7:00am–7:00pm, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)
- Every other weekend (EOW) required
- Every other holiday (EOH) required
- No on-call responsibilities
Requirements
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a compact RN license currently in hand
- Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA or ARC)
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
- Nursing Diploma or ADN/ASN from an accredited school of nursing required; BSN or MSN preferred
Additional Information
- Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, interdisciplinary collaboration, discharge planning, point-of-care testing, and performance improvement activities
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate and deliver individualized patient care using the nursing process
- Addresses cultural and ethnic considerations in patient care planning
- Two professional references required for consideration
- A background check and drug screen are required prior to start; plan for at least 2 weeks for results to be returned
