We are a dynamic mid-sized public accounting firm with a team of over 70 professionals currently seeking a seasoned Full Charge Bookkeeper or Controller level person to join our team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Prepare various accounting schedules and post journal entries for fixed assets, depreciation, prepaid expenses, and deferred income
- Bank and credit card reconciliations
- Payroll processing with third-party payroll systems and submitting pensions as required
- Analyze financial data
- General ledger maintenance
- Maintain, file, and report sales and use tax filings
- Liaison with external auditors on behalf of the firm’s internal client, including assistance with providing audit documentation and working papers
- Preparation and review of 1099s
Job criteria and requirements:
- 5+ years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
- Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks (Online and Desktop)
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Mid-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple clients, competing projects, and deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently with minimal oversight
- Positive professional attitude
- Jonas Encore software experience is a plus
