What is the Clubhouse Model?
The Clubhouse model is a community-based approach to mental health recovery. Instead of being clients in a program, adults living with mental illness are members who share responsibility for running the Clubhouse.
This daily structure, known as the “work-ordered day,” reduces isolation and builds purpose, confidence, and connection. Staff are not supervisors or case managers; they work side by side with members as equal partners. Through shared responsibility and meaningful work, members strengthen skills, relationships, and independence, creating a path toward recovery.
