Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid: In-office Monday–Thursday, Remote Friday)

Position Summary

The Human Resources Manager will bring a broad generalist skillset across multiple core areas of HR while managing, developing, coaching, and evaluating at least one direct report. This role will lead key HR functions, support leaders across the organization, and play a central role in maintaining a strong, positive company culture.



Key Responsibilities

HRIS Management

  • Act as the main point of contact for HRIS representatives.

  • Fully understand, utilize, and manage the HRIS platform.

  • Ensure employee data is timely, accurate, and up to date.

  • Periodically re-evaluate the platform as the company grows.

Employee Relations

  • Primary contact for employee relations matters including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance management.

  • Provide coaching and guidance to managers and employees to promote a positive work environment.

Onboarding & Orientation

  • Oversee corporate pre-boarding and onboarding processes.

  • Create and manage onboarding schedules in coordination with multiple departments.

  • Develop and deliver new hire orientation covering company policies, culture, and values.

  • Monitor new hires during the first 90 days to ensure successful integration.

Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws across all states of operation.

  • Maintain and update policies, procedures, and the employee handbook.

  • Manage workers’ compensation processes and leave programs (FMLA, non-FMLA, etc.).

Payroll, Benefits & Compensation

  • Process corporate payroll and serve as back-up for on-site payroll.

  • Lead the annual benefits open enrollment process.

  • Manage benefits programs and 401(k) participation.

  • Partner with vendors to evaluate and recommend benefit programs.

Training & Development

  • Implement training for corporate benefits programs and annual HR events.

  • Facilitate leadership and employee development workshops.

  • Partner with Operations Training on on-site training initiatives.

  • Monitor performance reviews and support managers in conducting evaluations.

HR Data & Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze HR metrics such as turnover, retention, and employee engagement.

  • Identify trends and recommend process improvements.

  • Use internal and external data to support HR strategies.

Culture & Engagement

  • Lead initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Manage employee recognition programs and internal communication strategies.

  • Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred).

  • 3+ years in a human resources role within a multi-state organization.

  • 2+ years in real estate, property management, or student housing (preferred).

  • 2+ years of direct people management experience.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws.

  • HRIS and payroll software experience.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Strong prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to travel occasionally (up to 10%).
