Position Overview

A healthcare system in Florida is seeking an experienced Freestanding Emergency Department Registered Nurse (FSED RN) to join its emergency services team. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage a wide range of patient acuity—from minor complaints to critically ill emergencies—in a fast-paced environment.

Available Shifts

  • Night Shift – Rotating weekends

  • Mixed Shifts – Rotating weekends

Unit Details

  • Freestanding Emergency Department

  • 12-bed unit

Key Responsibilities

  • Triage, assess, and treat patients of all ages in a freestanding emergency setting

  • Rapidly identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans

  • Manage multiple patient cases simultaneously while prioritizing care effectively

  • Provide nursing care for medical, surgical, trauma, and emergency presentations

  • Deliver discharge instructions, follow-up care education, and referrals

  • Coordinate care with physicians and hospital departments

  • Maintain patient safety, privacy, and quality standards at all times

  • Accurately document care and interventions in the electronic medical record

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of recent acute care experience in Med/Surg, PCU, ICU, or Emergency Department – required

  • Active Florida RN license or compact multistate RN license

    • Compact license holders must obtain Florida licensure within 60 days of relocation

  • BLS certification required within 30 days of hire

  • ACLS certification required within 90 days of hire

  • PALS certification required within 90 days of hire

  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) required within 6 months

  • Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NCI) required within 6 months

  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or TNCC Instructor required within 6 months
