Duties

Job Description:
You will work across multiple classrooms and age groups, providing support to teachers, assisting with classroom management, and stepping in during times of absence or high need. This role offers variety and flexibility, and the teacher is expected to be adaptable and ready to step in where needed while maintaining a positive, supportive environment for both children and staff.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality care and instruction to children of varying age groups.
  • Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate lesson plans and activities that promote children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Step in for absent teachers or provide support during peak times, ensuring classroom routines run smoothly.
  • Supervise children during play, meals, rest, and outdoor activities.
  • Ensure safety and cleanliness of classrooms and common areas.
  • Maintain positive and open communication with parents, staff, and management.
  • Support children as needed.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive environment.
  • Follow all center policies, procedures, and licensing regulations.



Requirements

  • 18 years of age or older
  • A genuine love for working with young children and a desire to make a positive impact in their lives.
  • A dependable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Patience, as every day is an adventure with little ones!
  • Must meet all DCYF requirements to include-
  • CPR, First Aid, and Blood Born Pathogens or the willingness to obtain certifications.
  • State required training and documentation (30 hour STARS)
  • Background check
  • TB and MMR documentation
  • Food Handlers Card



Nice To Haves

Previous work with children is a plus but not a must!
