Position Overview:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Event Specialist role is a pivotal position that merges event planning, décor rental, and destination management services to facilitate a diverse range of events. (30% social/weddings 70% corporate/association ) Responsibilities include selling and executing events featuring rental items from Event Lab’s inventory, sourcing off-site events, managing travel manifests, coordinating group transportation, and procuring various event services. The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of experience in the events industry, proficiency in corporate travel event management, sourcing skills, and prior sales experience. Creativity is essential for curating captivating design concepts and overseeing their implementation. The role suits individuals passionate about event planning, encompassing venue and vendor sourcing, décor curation, manifest management, and logistical planning.

Position Schedule:

The position is a salaried role based on a minimum of 40 hours per week. Work locations will include office work in Eden Prairie, MN, on-site event work (primarily within the Twin Cities), and two work-from-home days a month. The candidate will be expected to have a flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events, industry education and networking events, and tradeshows.


Position Responsibilities:

Include, but are not limited to:

Client Consultation and Sales

• Lead event consultations directly with clients to learn about their event needs and how Event Lab can provide DMC work / décor / rentals for their event

• Respond to initial client inquiries in a prompt, professional manner to secure an opportunity to present a proposal / potential sale

• Build comprehensive quotes of items requested and available for the client’s event

• Guide clients through the Event Lab process of reserving their items and confirming their order prior to the event

• Design mood boards with the client’s vision and assist in securing the sale of the contract, as needed

• Event budgeting, ensuring your events are hitting the targeted margins

Event Coordination and Logistics

• Confirm the event order details including final item(s) counts, event times, available set and strike times, etc.

• Collect logistical details, including but not limited to, load in/out times, diagrams, venue and planner contacts

• be a point of contact for clients after the sale has been made

• Delegate tasks and projects to Project Manager(s) as needed based on project size and scope

Relationship Building and Industry Networking

• Build relationships with constituents in the Twin Cities Events Industry that will ultimately garner revenue for Event Lab

• Utilize relationships to build and maintain clients, establish accounts

• Attend networking events to maintain a consistent presence in the industry and allow for professional growth

On-Site Event Operation and Support

• Assist the team with event installs including weddings, social events, corporate events, etc.

• Being the voice/image of the company when on-site – must have a sense of professionalism

Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate the following:

Proficiency in event décor, artistic flair, showcasing creativity and design aptitude

Active engagement within the Twin Cities event industry

Strong organization skills

Demonstrated experience in relevant roles

Experience with Good Shuffle software


Salary Range: $55,000-$75,000
