The ideal candidate will have deep experience working for a construction GC or real estate development on projects in the $50M-$100M range. Someone who is well-versed with Real Estate, Property Accounting, Timberline, change orders, and lien waivers.

Job Details:

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and experienced Permanent Real Estate Controller to join our Multifamily Development team in the Construction industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing financial operations within the construction industry, specifically in multifamily development. This position will play a key role in overseeing financial management, providing financial forecasts, and ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the construction industry's financial intricacies, including year-end close, Ledger, Invoices, Timberline, viewpoint, WIP, T&M, change orders, and lien waivers.

Responsibilities:

1. Oversee and manage all financial aspects of multifamily development projects, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
2. Ensure accurate and timely year-end close processes, including the preparation and review of financial statements and tax returns.
3. Manage the general ledger and ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
4. Oversee the invoicing process, ensuring all invoices are issued and paid in a timely manner.
5. Utilize Timberline and viewpoint software for project management and financial reporting.
6. Manage the Work in Progress (WIP) schedule and Time & Material (T&M) billings.
7. Review and approve change orders and lien waivers, ensuring all necessary documentation is in place.
8. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including tax laws and construction regulations.
9. Provide financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
10. Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A CPA or CMA certification is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically in multifamily development.
3. Proven experience with year-end close, Ledger, Invoices, Timberline, viewpoint, WIP, T&M, change orders, and lien waivers.
4. Strong understanding of construction accounting principles
