Behavioral Health Technician
Reports to Director of Behavioral Health
Background: Cahaba Medical Care Foundation is a community health center organization providing medical, pharmacy, dental, and behavioral health services to diverse underserved communities in Jefferson, Bibb, Perry, Chilton, and Wilcox Counties. We are a Level 3 Patient-Centered Medical Home and Joint Commission-accredited organization, committed to increasing integration and coordination of behavioral health and primary care. Responsibilities & Duties

Exemplify and Model, as an individual and a leader, the C4s and Crucial Conversations / Crucial Accountability

Punctual and regular attendance at the office during scheduled hours.

Intervening when patients become dangerous to themselves or others

Communicating with staff, patients, and their family members as needed

Works with other members of a multi-disciplinary team in leading milieu activities such as current events groups, community outreach, goals groups, fitness groups, activities of daily living groups, and/or recreational activities, as appropriate to the specified patient population.

Charts patient observations, following prescribed procedures and standards.

Participates in the development and implementation of patient treatment programs.

Maintains confidentiality of patient records.

May perform initial patient screenings to determine treatment priorities; may take urine, stool, and sputum specimens for drug screening; may facilitate group counseling sessions.

Attends and participates in group sessions, in-service education, and staff meetings.

Maintains established institutional policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.

May provide liaison with patients, families of patients, or external facilities and agencies.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

High School diploma required. Bachelors degree in social service related field desired.

This position requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Travel Requirements: Travel required.
