Instructional Aide Subs Per Diem Opportunities Fremont, CA
A school-based per diem role is available for compassionate individuals to provide 1:1 academic and behavioral support to students in a structured educational setting. This position offers a flexible schedule with shifts assigned as needed to support school coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students academically, behaviorally, and socially in classroom environments
- Provide individualized or small-group support as directed by teachers and staff
- Help students with daily routines, transitions, and active classroom participation
- Implement behavior support plans and follow Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) when applicable
- Support student mobility, supervision, and personal care needs
- Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning atmosphere
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a TB test and meet school district health standards
- Physical ability to stand, walk, and assist with lifting as needed
- Current clearances or willingness to obtain necessary clearances before starting
Preferred Experience:
- Previous work in schools, special education, behavioral health, or child care
- Experience supporting students with special needs, autism, or behavioral challenges
- Certification or experience with CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), PMT (Positive Management Techniques), or RBT (Registered Behavior Technician) is a plus but not required
- Reliable, patient, and team-oriented attitude
