Wilkes University invites applicants for a Payroll Coordinator in the Payroll Office. This position supports the University's payroll operations by maintaining accurate employee payroll records, assisting hourly and student employees and supervisors, and helping ensure timely and compliant payroll processing.

The successful candidate is responsible for serving as the first point of contact for hourly employees, student employees, and supervisors; maintaining TimeTrak profiles and timecards; establishing new employee and supervisor profiles; receiving student employment applications and sending payroll instructions to students; reviewing student profiles to ensure correct position code application; entering new hire paperwork, including W-4 forms, local tax forms, and direct deposit authorizations; coordinating and entering salary attendance sheets; serving as a backup for biweekly payroll processing, including tax requirements, wage garnishments, ACH payments, check requests, and journal entry support; maintaining payroll records and scanning documentation; updating employee job endings and PTO accruals in the TimeTrak system; entering payroll deductions; printing and mailing W-2s and reporting W-2 data to federal, state, and local agencies; ordering payroll checks and W-2 forms; processing annual payroll-related invoices; and serving as a backup to the Payroll Manager in processing payroll from start to finish.

A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent experience is required. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in payroll processing or a related role, strong attention to detail, organizational skills, proficiency with payroll systems and Microsoft Office, knowledge of payroll regulations and tax requirements, and the ability to maintain confidentiality while providing excellent customer service. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
