The Director of Sales & Marketing is responsible for leading and executing the company’s commercial strategy to drive revenue growth, expand market share, and enhance customer relationships within the aerospace manufacturing industry.

This role oversees the daily operations of the sales and customer service teams, distribution channels, and marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry demands. The Director will collaborate closely with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to align customer needs with technical capabilities, and ensure the successful promotion of our aerospace products and services.

The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented commercial leader with strong strategic thinking, deep industry knowledge, and a track record of building high-performance sales teams in a technical, B2B environment.

What you will be doing:

  • Develop and execute annual sales and marketing plans aligned with company growth objectives.
  • Manage and mentor the Sales and Customer Service teams, ensuring performance targets and customer expectations are consistently met.
  • Oversee sales operations, including pipeline development, account planning, quoting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Strengthen relationships with key aerospace customers, OEMs, and channel partners.
  • Monitor KPIs such as revenue performance, quote-to-close ratios, gross margins, and customer satisfaction.
  • Lead the development of marketing content, sales tools, campaigns, and branding initiatives to support lead generation and product awareness.
  • Conduct competitive market analysis and customer research to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
  • Participate in pricing strategy and contract negotiations, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings, both domestically and internationally.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, and Quality to ensure customer requirements are met and commercial feedback informs product and process improvements.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, professionalism, and customer focus across all commercial functions.
  • Regular collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Executive Leadership to ensure commercial alignment with operational capabilities and customer requirements.

What you need to qualify:

  • Strong understanding of aerospace or technical manufacturing industry sales cycles and customer expectations.
  • Proven experience in strategic sales planning, customer development, and team leadership.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Data-driven decision-maker with solid analytical and forecasting abilities.
  • Ability to manage and coach a sales team to meet aggressive growth targets.
  • Proficient in CRM platforms, sales analytics tools, and digital marketing principles.
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and customer-centric focus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive sales and marketing experience, including at least 3–5 years in a leadership role within a manufacturing or aerospace-related organization.
  • Certifications: Professional sales or marketing certifications are a plus (e.g., CPM, CPSA, HubSpot, or Six Sigma).
  • This position is primarily based in an office environment, with frequent interaction across departments and occasional customer visits.
  • National and international travel is required to meet with customers, attend trade shows, and support global business development activities.
