Our organization is excited to announce a full-time position for a Nursing Home Medical Director/Physician to oversee and deliver care at our nonprofit Skilled Nursing Homes located in the Capital Region of Upstate New York.

The Eddy, situated in this vibrant area, presents a distinctive and fulfilling opportunity for a dedicated Physician to become part of our nursing home medical team. With a strong legacy as an innovative nonprofit provider, we offer a wide array of services including skilled nursing homes, subacute rehabilitation, independent retirement communities, assisted living, memory care centers, PACE, home health, hospice, and more. Our integrated healthcare delivery system is committed to excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with our nursing home medical team to provide care for long-term residents across approximately seven skilled nursing facilities, which include options for long-term care, subacute rehabilitation, and memory care. Notably, two of our sites utilize the Green House model.
  • Work within a close-knit network of nursing homes, with locations conveniently situated within a few miles of each other, and others accessible within a 20-minute drive.
  • Engage with a highly collaborative medical team comprising Physicians and Nurse Practitioners, alongside on-site specialists in Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, and Optometry.
  • Foster a strong partnership with the Albany College of Pharmacy, recently launching a Geriatric Pharmacotherapy Service.
  • Receive substantial leadership support from experienced professionals, including the Eddy Chief Medical Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Director of Quality & Safety, and Vice President for Residential Services, all of whom are passionate about our mission and dedicated to the care of our residents and staff.
  • Participate in teaching opportunities with Albany Medical College’s Geriatric Fellowship Program, aimed at nurturing the development of geriatric-trained physicians and nurse practitioners.

Qualifications

  • Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is required.
  • Certification in Geriatric Medicine or Hospice & Palliative Care is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Certified Medical Director (CMD) credential is also preferred but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for caring for older adults within a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Compensation and Benefits

  • The salary range provided reflects the starting total compensation and does not encompass productivity bonuses, quality and performance incentives, extra shift bonuses, or other applicable cash compensation.
  • Providers typically receive a Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance along with additional benefits from their medical group employer.
  • A starting bonus of $30,000 is available.
