An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in Emergency Room care to provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing services in a dynamic hospital setting located in Los Alamos, NM. Responsibilities:

  • Assess and prioritize patient care based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans according to established standards.
  • Perform timely nursing interventions and document patient progress thoroughly.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to ensure coordinated, quality care.
  • Participate in patient education and discharge planning.
  • Support unit operations by delegating tasks, orienting new staff, and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Maintain adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements.
  • Adapt flexibly to changing clinical demands and schedules.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
  • Current New Mexico RN license or a Compact state license.
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association.
  • TNCC or ATCN and CPI certifications preferred.
  • Strong communication skills tailored to diverse patient age groups.
  • Ability to manage physically demanding tasks and maintain composure in emergency situations.
  • Experience with Point of Care testing and clinical decision-making.

Schedule and Additional Requirements:

  • Mids shift: 11 AM 11 PM
  • Weekend rotations: Up to 2 weekends per 4-week schedule
  • Floating as needed based on census or acuity
  • No routine on-call required but may be placed on call during low census periods.
