Job Description

About the Role:

As a Civil Engineer, you will play a critical role in the planning, design, and oversight of infrastructure projects that enhance community development and public safety. You will be responsible for applying engineering principles to land development, transportation systems, stormwater management, and sanitary sewer design to ensure sustainable and efficient solutions. This position requires collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies to deliver projects that meet technical specifications, budget constraints, and timelines. You will also be involved in construction management activities, ensuring that projects are executed according to design and quality standards. Ultimately, your expertise will contribute to the creation of resilient infrastructure that supports economic growth and environmental stewardship.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain licensure within a specified timeframe.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for engineering design and drafting.
  • Demonstrated experience in land development, stormwater management, and sanitary sewer system design.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation engineering principles and construction management practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or related specialization.
  • Experience with advanced structural analysis software and techniques.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design practices and environmental regulations.
  • Project management certification such as PMP (Project Management Professional).
  • Experience working on large-scale public infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed civil engineering designs and plans using AutoCAD and MicroStation software.
  • Conduct site assessments and analyze structural, transportation, and stormwater management requirements.
  • Prepare technical reports, cost estimates, and construction documentation for land development projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors, clients, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Oversee construction activities to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to safety standards.
  • Perform structural analysis and provide solutions to engineering challenges encountered during project execution.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and effective resource allocation.

Skills:

The required skills such as Civil Engineering fundamentals, AutoCAD, and MicroStation are essential for creating precise and compliant engineering designs on a daily basis. Land development and stormwater management expertise enable you to develop sustainable site plans that address environmental and regulatory challenges effectively. Knowledge of sanitary sewer and transportation engineering ensures that infrastructure systems are designed for optimal functionality and public safety. Construction management skills are applied to oversee project execution, coordinate with contractors, and maintain quality control throughout the build phase. Preferred skills like advanced structural analysis and project management enhance your ability to solve complex engineering problems and lead projects to successful completion.
