Restaurant Depot, a national wholesale restaurant supplier is seeking a Distribution Center general manager for our facility in the Houston area.
This distribution center will be receiving and storing merchandise, and then selects and ships products across the country (US). This role will have the responsibility of ensuring the entire operation journey to excellence, as well as building productivity and maintaining/controlling costs in the industry. Background in broadline foodservice is essential, as we are a restaurant supplier.
Key Responsibilities:
Position will be accountable for all results that consists of unloading, loading, moving inventory in the warehouse, handling outbound orders and/or case picking. This operation will be working on a 7/24 schedule, 360 days a week. The successful candidate shall also be responsible for delivering all results and growing organizational capacity and capability to deliver a sustained improvement. This role requires an elevated level of personal leadership and dedication to drive a long term “zero loss” path. This position requires a daily “on-the-floor” presence and leadership as well as ongoing accountability for the team.

This is an outstanding opportunity to learn in detail the transportation and warehousing node of the supply chain. You will be a pioneer of the new warehousing operations owned by Restaurant Depot.
The Center operates 360 days of the year. Due to this, the job will require to work on a schedule that would require rotating shifts which would include weekends on a consistent basis.
Education: Minimum BA preferred
