SUMMARY:
Family Service League is seeking a full-time Social Worker or Mental Health Counselor to complete intakes to the Clinic, hold a small caseload and provide Case Management Services to our clients. This position will play an integral role within the therapeutic team as they help us to achieve our vision of exceeding expectations and set the standard for excellence in mental healthcare.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Social Worker will complete walk-in intakes and assessments for new clients.
- Coordinate referrals with hospitals and schedule intake appointments within a given timeframe.
- Facilitate rapid engagement or re-engagement of clients.
- Provide individual and/or group therapy to adults and children with a full range of DSM diagnoses.
- Complete all clinical documentation in accordance with NYS Office of Mental Health in an electronic medical record, including progress notes, comprehensive assessments and individual action plans.
- The Social Worker will help maintain a positive and productive work environment.
- Maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization.
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions.
- The Social Worker will work with multidisciplinary team to set priorities, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information and activities.
- Computer proficiency, including Microsoft office, required.
- All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s Degree in Social Work or Mental Health Counseling required.
LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, or licensed professional in related field is required.
At minimum of 1 year of related experience in a behavioral health setting required; clinic experience preferred.
Strong judgement and problem-solving skills and understanding of boundaries are required.
Ability to work both independently, as well as on a team, is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
Bilingual in Spanish preferred.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires sitting at a desk for long periods of time.
