The Lab Technician or Lab Manager role will be working out of our Hawaii division in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Duties:
Certerra has an excellent opportunity in our Honolulu office for a full-time soil and construction materials laboratory testing technician/manager. We are a company that does not provide jobs, we provide careers!
Responsibilities will include assisting with obtaining and maintaining AASHTO (AMRL & CCRL) / USACE / Hawaii DOT accreditations, documenting test results, maintaining a clean and organized work area, strict adherence to safety protocols and quality control procedures, and assisting project managers and engineers with assignments. Dependent on lab workload, some field special inspection may be required.
Preferred experience should include laboratory and field testing of soil, concrete, asphalt, masonry, other construction materials, and mix design processes in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, and State procedures. Current laboratory certifications and ability to achieve additional concrete and soil laboratory certifications are a bonus.
Education/Qualifications:
- High School Diploma, or equivalent, at a minimum. An associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field, is a plus
- Preferred minimum one year of experience in geotechnical or construction materials laboratory testing
- Valid driver’s license
- Must pass background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Certerra’s driving policy
- Ability to lift materials and equipment up to 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as lifting and standing for long periods of time
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Attention to detail
Certifications/Licenses:
Preferred certifications include any of the following:
- ACI Field Testing Technician Grade I
- ACI Concrete Strength Testing Technician
- ACI Aggregate Testing Technician – Level I or II
- ACI Base Testing Technician
- ACI Masonry Testing Technician (Field and Laboratory)
- NICET Soils Level I or II
- ICC Soils
- Other certifications in: Field Testing, Soils / Aggregate Testing, Asphalt Concrete Testing, and Masonry Testing
