Position: Powder Coating & Polishing Technician
Location: Claremore, OK
Pay: $18 to $23/hour
Type: Full-time; Contract to hire
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am to 4:30pm
ProRecruiters is seeking a Powder Coating & Polishing Technician to join a growing and dynamic team!
Job Description:
- Prepare metal parts and wheels for finishing by cleaning, sanding, masking, blasting, and removing imperfections
- Apply powder coating using electrostatic spray equipment and ensure even coverage and proper thickness
- Perform polishing processes, including sanding, cutting, buffing, and final finishing on aluminum and metal surfaces
- Operate curing ovens, polishing equipment, airway buffers, bench polishers, and hand tools safely and efficiently
- Inspect finished products for scratches, defects, consistency, and overall quality
- Maintain brushed, high polish, mirror polish, and other specialty finishes according to specifications
- Perform touch-ups, rework, and surface preparation as needed
- Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and finishing requirements
- Assist with hanging, racking, and moving parts throughout the finishing process
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while following all safety procedures and PPE requirements
- Meet production deadlines without sacrificing quality
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in powder coating, polishing, painting, metal finishing, or a related field preferred
- Familiarity with spray equipment, polishing compounds, buffing techniques, and finishing processes
- Strong attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Strong work ethic and ability to handle repetitive tasks
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with aluminum wheel finishing or custom metal finishing
- Knowledge of brushed, directional, and mirror polish finishes
- Understanding of powder coating preparation and finishing processes
