Master's degree in Occupational Therapy, active Occupational Therapist license and 1+ year of Occupational Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A full-time Occupational Therapist position is available for the upcoming school year, serving students in grades K through 2 with an autism caseload. This contract role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact at a single school site in Wilkes Barre, PA, supporting young learners within a K-12 educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy services tailored to students with autism and other developmental needs.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Assess student progress regularly and adjust strategies to promote functional skills and academic success.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary approaches for student support.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with school and regulatory guidelines.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Occupational Therapy licensure appropriate for school-based practice.
- Experience working with children in early elementary grades, specifically K-2.
- Familiarity with autism spectrum disorders and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, families, and administration.
- Ability to manage a caseload independently within a structured school environment.
