Are you a college student eager to gain hands-on experience in the accounting industry over the summer?


Join the International Institute for Restorative Practices in Bethlehem, PA, as a Bookkeeper for the summer. This onsite position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals, enhancing your practical skills while earning $19.00 per hour to start. The anticipated start date is June 1, 2026, with an end date in mid-August.


The qualified individual will gain insight into real-world accounting processes and develop invaluable teamwork and problem-solving abilities. This is a temporary role that allows you to balance your academic commitments while building your resume. This experience could be a steppingstone toward your future career in accounting, making it an exciting opportunity.


As a bookkeeper, you can expect a dynamic work environment where no-two days are the same. Your daily tasks will include assisting with data entry, reconciling financial records, and supporting the preparation of monthly reports. You may also help to organize invoices and manage account documentation, providing essential support to the accounting team. Your schedule will be Hybrid, allowing you to split your time between working onsite in our office in Bethlehem, PA, and completing tasks remotely from your home.


This role will not only enhance your accounting skills but also help you cultivate a professional work ethic in a supportive atmosphere.


To thrive as a bookkeeper certain skills and knowledge are essential. Entry-level accounting or bookkeeping experience, whether through internships or coursework-will help you hit the ground running. Familiarity with the QuickBooks accounting system is preferred, as this will enable you to navigate tasks efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, is crucial for data management and reporting.


You should feel comfortable handling spreadsheets, analyze data, and generate basic financial reports. Additionally, any experience with other accounting software will be considered an asset. Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment will further enhance your success in this role, ensuring that you contribute meaningfully to the organization's objectives.



Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Entry-level accounting or bookkeeping experience including internships or coursework (preferred)
  • Knowledge of the QuickBooks accounting system (preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
