EWS Texas Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Assistant to support the daily operations of the Human Resources department. The HR Assistant will assist with employee onboarding, personnel records management, benefits administration, payroll support, recruiting activities, and general employee relations. This position requires strong communication skills, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with employee onboarding and orientation processes.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HR records.
- Support recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
- Assist with benefits administration and employee enrollment processes.
- Process employment-related documentation, including new hire paperwork, status changes, and terminations.
- Support payroll preparation by collecting and verifying employee information and timesheets.
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, benefits, and employment-related matters.
- Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and HR-related correspondence.
- Coordinate training sessions, employee meetings, and company events.
- Assist with tracking employee certifications, licenses, and required training.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive employee and company information.
- Perform other administrative and HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of administrative experience.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Qualifications Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- Previous Human Resources experience.
- Experience with HRIS, payroll, benefits administration, or applicant tracking systems.
- Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based environment.
- Ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer.
- Occasional lifting of office supplies and materials up to 25 pounds.
