Title: Entry Level Engineer (Civil, Structural, or Mechanical)
Direct Supervisor: Principal Engineer.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000 to $75,000 / yr
Job Location: Hybrid in Denver, CO
Description:
We are looking for an Entry Level Forensic Civil/Structural/Mechanical Engineer. This is a unique employment opportunity for a new or recent engineering graduate (0-5 years). We are a forensic engineering and architecture firm that specializes in investigating and repairing damaged structures. Projects will include investigating civil, structural, and mechanical failures and designing repairs to such structures for damage caused by natural loading events, soil failures, and construction defects. Projects will also include the design of new, complex residential structures as well as detailed load analysis of component and cladding failures. Must be familiar with appropriate design codes and software. Revit and Autocad experience are a plus. Must be physically able to access roofs, crawl spaces, attics, and other such spaces. Must live in Denver Metro area, no remote work option.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering;
- Master’s or PhD in Civil Engineering preferred;
- EIT license;
- Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication;
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and help on a variety of projects.
Duties:
- Develop timely report drafts related to construction defects.
- Develop technical analyses and case research through related documents.
- Request building department files through the city or county.
- Produce presentation drafts of findings for clients.
- Review architectural construction documents, building codes, and other related specifications.
- Involvement in investigative site visits and destructive testing.
- Possess the desire and ability to learn, advance, and grow in a team-oriented work environment.
- Travel to site locations (mileage reimbursed)
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- Competent Analytical skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient in using computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Illustrator, Acrobat).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with professionalism.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in performing clerical tasks.
- Effectively understand the balance between quality and time.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
