This position is titled Marketing Advisor within Purdue for Life Foundation’s internal structure but is being advertised as Senior Marketing Manager to better reflect its scope and responsibilities. The role reports directly to the Sr. Director, Marketing.
Responsibilities

  • Support the Sr Director, Marketing in executing strategic marketing plans to advance foundation and university goals.
  • In partnership with others, oversee development and lead execution of President’s Council communications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to implement a social media content strategy for the President’s Council, managing a content calendar that engages members and highlights philanthropic impact.
  • Build and manage campaigns, projects, and tasks in the team’s project management tool related to communications supporting President’s Council and donor relations and stewardship while ensuring all work aligns with project management best practices.
  • Help implement and optimize marketing efforts, including digital (SEO, paid social) and other advertising opportunities.
  • Develop content for various platforms and formats (e.g., emails, social media posts, print collateral, web copy, event materials) following visual and editorial brand guidelines.
  • Collaborate across foundation departments and with university partners to gather information, support campaigns, and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Support the marketing and communications team and other colleagues as copy editor.
  • Work collaboratively and collegially with Purdue for Life staff (leadership, fundraisers, donor and alumni relations staff, special events staff) and university colleagues to complete projects on time and with high quality.
  • Conduct background market research to inform marketing strategy and performance evaluations.
  • Where applicable, incorporate AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance marketing efforts.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with production coordination for photo and video shoots.
  • Represent the foundation at various activities and provide consultation and collaboration on projects.
  • Attend events and represent the marketing team as needed; some evening and weekend work is required.
  • As needed, serve as assigning manager for freelance talent.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Excellent proofreading and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to take initiative and solve problems while being flexible.
  • Ability to influence and build working relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels.
  • Demonstrated good judgment, diplomacy, persuasive ability, and the ability to inspire confidence and cooperation to drive positive results within and across the organization’s boundaries.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and developing marketing strategies that are designed to promote and generate philanthropic support.
  • General understanding of the need to cultivate and steward donors at any giving level.
  • Personal computer and related software skills.
  • Ability to perform with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work up to 3 days per week in the office in West Lafayette, Indiana.


Required Education, Experience and Benefits Summary

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in developing and executing marketing, public relations, and/or development programs and working in various communication channels.
