We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Front Desk / Cross-Trained Dental Assistant to join our growing dental team in NW Washington, DC. This role is primarily front desk, with hygiene assisting responsibilities on Fridays.
The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and experienced in dental front office operations, while also being flexible and comfortable supporting the clinical team when needed.
Important: Candidates must hold a valid Dental Assistant license in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities
Front Desk responsibilities include:

Greeting and checking patients in and out

Scheduling appointments and managing the daily schedule

Verifying insurance eligibility and obtaining benefit breakdowns

Working with PPO insurance plans
-
Collecting patient co-payments and balances
-
Creating, reviewing, and presenting treatment plans

Submitting and tracking insurance claims
-
Running and following up on outstanding insurance claims

Managing aspects of Revenue Cycle Management

Maximizing patient insurance benefits and financial coordination

Maintaining accurate patient records
Clinical support responsibilities (Fridays):

Assisting the hygienist with patient care

Preparing and turning over treatment rooms

Maintaining sterilization and infection control protocols

Supporting overall clinical workflow
Qualifications

Active Dental Assistant License in Washington, DC (Required)

Minimum 1 year of dental front desk experience

Experience with PPO insurance verification and breakdowns

Knowledge of dental insurance billing and claims

Strong understanding of dental office revenue cycle processes

Excellent communication and customer service skills

Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
