Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree, active Pharmacist license, and minimum 1+ years Pharmacist in Charge experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Lead pharmacy operations as the Pharmacist in Charge, utilizing your expertise in long-term care (LTC) pharmacy to ensure compliance, accuracy, and exceptional patient care. This direct hire opportunity is based in San Antonio, TX, ideal for a pharmacist with a strong background in LTC settings who thrives in a regulated, collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all pharmacy operations within a long-term care or closed-door pharmacy, ensuring adherence to CMS, DEA, and Texas state board regulations specific to nursing facilities.
  • Manage and optimize LTC workflows including cycle fills, medication carts, and electronic Medication Administration Records (eMAR) systems.
  • Collaborate with consultant pharmacists and interdisciplinary teams to promote safe and effective medication use.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and prepare for audits and inspections.
  • Utilize LTC pharmacy systems such as PrimeCare, DocuTrack, TCGRx, and Parata to support daily pharmacy functions.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree.
  • Active Registered Pharmacist license in Texas.
  • Proven experience working in long-term care or closed-door pharmacy environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of LTC regulations and pharmacy system software.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead pharmacy operations and handle regulatory compliance with confidence.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with healthcare teams.
