Senior Designer, UX
As a Senior UX Designer at CAVA, you will lead design strategy and execution for major guest-facing digital initiatives — shaping how millions of guests interact with our mobile app, website, catering experience and more. At the Senior Manager level, you’ll own complex product areas, drive alignment across stakeholders, and influence the future of digital dining at CAVA. You will report to the Director of UX Design and serve as a trusted partner to Product, Engineering, Creative, Brand Marketing, and Operations in bringing our hospitality and food philosophy to life in digital form. You’ll balance hands-on design with strategic thinking and bring structure and clarity to ambiguous challenges — always advocating for the guest and advancing design quality across the organization.

What You’ll Do:
· Lead the end-to-end design of large-scale digital experiences and features that impact guest acquisition, ordering, personalization, and loyalty.
· Own the UX strategy for high-priority product areas — from discovery and ideation through prototyping, testing, and implementation.
· Translate business goals and user needs into thoughtful, elegant, and intuitive design solutions.
· Serve as a design lead in cross-functional squads, collaborating with Product Managers, Engineers, and Brand to bring ideas to life.
· Conduct or guide user research efforts including usability testing, journey mapping, and insights synthesis.
· Partner with the Director of UX to evolve and apply CAVA’s digital design system across all platforms.
· Advocate for accessibility and inclusive design in all guest-facing experiences.
· Present design concepts and strategic rationale clearly to stakeholders, including executives.
· Contribute to a culture of design critique, mentorship, and continuous learning within the broader UX and Product teams.
· Monitor industry trends, emerging design practices, and competitive experiences to inform CAVA’s innovation roadmap.
The Qualifications:
· 7+ years of UX/UI design experience across mobile apps, web, and digital platforms; experience in food, retail, or e-commerce is a plus.
· A strong portfolio demonstrating your process, leadership, and impact on real-world digital experiences.
· Expert-level proficiency in Figma and modern design and prototyping tools.
· Experience working with and/or building design systems
· Experience running usability tests
· Strong typography and visual design skills
· Deep knowledge of user-centered design principles, interaction design, accessibility, and responsive web/mobile frameworks.
· Experience collaborating closely with Product and Engineering partners; working in agile environments a plus
· Strong communicator who can distill complex ideas into compelling stories and strategic recommendations.
· Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and guide junior designers through feedback and informal leadership.
· Comfortable balancing speed and craft — knowing when to iterate quickly and when to refine deeply.
· Bachelor’s degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Design, or a related field
· After Effects and/or interactive animation experience a plus
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
· Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
· For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
· Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
· Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
· Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
