The primary role of a Memory Care Nurse is to assist the Director of Health & Wellness in managing the day-to-day operation of their Community’s Memory Care Department.
Duties & Responsibilities:
1. assists the Director of Health & Wellness in managing their Community’s medication management processes including administration of medications to Residents, obtaining medication from pharmacies, maintaining Resident EMRs, storing medications, cleaning medication carts and storage cupboards, and ensuring that the medication room is organized and secure;
2. ensures that Resident health is properly monitored and that a Resident’s significant change or adverse reaction to medication or treatment is promptly reported to the Director of Health & Wellness and properly documented;
3. participates in pre-admission evaluations of potential Residents;
4. collaborates with Director of Health & Wellness in conducting Resident Service Plan reviews;
5. collaborates with the Director of Assisted Living in scheduling and conducting periodic safety and infection control checks;
6. performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Health & Wellness.
Requirements:
Required:
a) be a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in good standing in the State within which their Community is located;
b) have relevant experience in a senior housing, memory care, long term care, or health care facility;
c) have thorough knowledge of healthcare related sections of Applicable Law;
d) have thorough knowledge of, and experience using, PointClickCare software;
e) type with accuracy and possess working knowledge of and basic proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams applications in the Microsoft Office suite.
Preferred:
The following qualifications would enhance the skill set of a prospective Memory Care Nurse:
a) relevant experience in a supervisory capacity.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

1. must be able to maintain moderate physical activity for an entire shift, occasionally handling objects up to 50 pounds and frequently handling objects up to 20 pounds.
