Job DescriptionSenior Accountant (Property & Healthcare)

LHH is partnered on a confidential search for a Senior Accountant to support a portfolio of healthcare-related properties. This role plays a critical part in monthly close, financial reporting, and reimbursement-related accounting, partnering closely with operations and leadership.

Location: Minneapolis area (hybrid after training)
Compensation: $70,000 - $90,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Own monthly and semi-annual financial statements for assigned properties
  • Analyze results, identify trends, and surface risks and opportunities to leadership
  • Prepare and support Medicare and Medicaid cost reports
  • Review accounts receivable, allowances, payroll trends, and expense coding
  • Partner closely with operations and field-based accounting teams
  • Mentor and review the work of staff accountants
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, lender reporting, and compliance activities

Qualifications

  • Senior-level accounting experience within property accounting environments
  • Hands-on skilled nursing or healthcare accounting experience is required
  • Experience with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement and cost reporting
  • Full-cycle accounting background with strong month-end ownership
  • Ability to operate independently while partnering cross-functionally
  • CPA preferred, not required

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications.

Benefits may include paid time off, medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement programs, and other benefits consistent with the role. Employees may also be eligible for paid leave as required by federal, state, or local law, as well as holiday pay where applicable. Bonus eligibility, if applicable, is based on company and/or individual performance.
