Job DescriptionWe are looking for a skilled Senior Accountant to join our team in Agoura Hills, California. This Contract-to-permanent position offers a dynamic opportunity to contribute to critical financial processes, including month-end close activities, reconciliations, and audits. The ideal candidate will bring over five years of accounting experience and a strong ability to analyze and improve existing procedures.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and post journal entries as part of month-end close processes.
• Conduct labor analyses and provide detailed reports to support the VP of Accounting.
• Develop and refine accounting procedures by reviewing current practices and identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations, including integrating transactions from multiple payroll systems.
• Record intercompany journal entries and ensure accuracy across accounts.
• Reconcile balance sheets and maintain accurate financial records.
• Create audit schedules and assist external auditors during yearly audits.
• Manage and prepare production accruals to ensure proper financial reporting.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required.
• Work occasional overtime during critical periods such as month-end close and audits.• At least five years of accounting experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in month-end close processes and general ledger management.
• Strong knowledge of preparing journal entries and conducting account reconciliations.
• Experience with bank reconciliations and handling transactions across multiple systems.
• Ability to create audit schedules and liaise with external auditors.
• Adept at analyzing and improving accounting procedures.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills.
• Willingness to work overtime during peak periods when necessary.
