Essential Job Functions
- Develops plans and specifications for projects and maintenance improvement projects
- Ensure timely implementation of projects and maintenance schedules
- Document project data, plan changes, and as-built plan updates.
- Coordinate with internal and external personnel in the development of project requirements and operational needs, including but not limited to: civil, mechanical, structural, electrical and architectural.
- Prepare Request for Proposals (RFP), Bid Documents and project updates.
- Prepare submittal packages
- Prepare CAD Drawings – conceptual, design and as-built drawings. Also, R&D parts drawings.
- Develop project estimates
- Review and process outside vendor and contractor invoices and expenses associated with projects.
- Demonstrate Safety aptitude and willingness to learn/be coachable.
- Demonstrate the ability to read engineering drawings, flow sheets, equipment layout, piping drawings, civil plans, and electrical controls schematics.
Additional Job Functions
- Exhibit basic project management skills, including where appropriate, equipment and materials selection, contractor supervision, system startup and operational readiness procedures, and submittal / close-out documentation.
- Act as a liaison between the Engineering department and all other internal departments.
- Organize and prioritize tasks coming into the Engineering department from Sales and R&D
- Become familiar with multiple functions of in-house business software system.
- Assist in overlap coverages for other office personal during vacation and absence.
- Additional duties as assigned
Requirements:
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Proficient in AutoCAD
- Skilled in the areas of interpersonal communication, organization, accuracy, and professional verbal and written communication
- Must be able to maintain and protect the confidentiality of all company proprietary information and trade secrets
- Ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as accept direction from management
- Ability to apply teamwork principles when working with company personnel
- Must be able to work in industrial environments including extremes in temperature with continuous walking, reaching, bending, and kneeling.
Experience and Education Requirements
- Degree in an Engineering Curriculum – Preferably a BS or AAS in Engineering Technology (Electrical)
- 2 + years of relevant work experience.
- Knowledge of the Engineering & Construction Standards, Customer Service, Knowledge of Maintenance Programs, Budgeting and Financial Management.
- Ability to prioritize and manage time wisely.
- Ability to thrive in a fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Possess good communication skills is a must (both verbal and written)
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
- Must possess or be able to obtain a valid and appropriate state driver’s license prior to employment.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and random drug screenings when selected.
- Must pass pre-employment background check.

Job Type
This is a full-time position which will typically involve 50+ hours a week. Due to the nature of the job, the employee must be available on-call early/late hours to deal with delays, bad weather and emergencies at the job site. This may include non-standard work weeks.
Travel
The employee may travel extensively when the project site is not close to the main office or when responsible for activities at two or more sites.

This position is available at our Lumberton, NC office.
