Job Summary (in list format) – Occupational Therapist, John Peter Smith Hospital

\n- Evaluate and implement Occupational Therapy plans of care for acute/inpatient patients to prevent illness/disability and restore function after injury or illness.
\n- Assist patients in reaching maximum functional levels using techniques focused on physical health, prevocational and homemaking skills, activities of daily living, and educational, recreational, and social activities.
\n- Address sensorimotor, cognitive, and psychosocial needs as part of therapy.
\n- Design and fabricate splints and adaptive equipment as needed.
\n- Document all patient care activities and associated billing/charges accurately.
\n- Provide leadership and guidance to Occupational Therapy support staff and students.
\n- Participate in professional development and continuing education to maintain licensure compliance.
\n- Perform other related tasks as required to support effective delivery of Occupational Therapy services.
\n- Maintain productivity standard of 12 patients per day.
\n- Demonstrate strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
\n- Effectively organize, manage time, and work independently amid distractions or stressful situations.
\n- Meet physical demands, such as standing, walking, lifting (25 lbs+ with assistance), and manual dexterity, with reasonable accommodations if needed.
\n- Work primarily indoors with potential exposure to infectious diseases, hazardous materials, and variable environmental conditions.
\n- Adapt to flexible scheduling, including overtime, occasional weekends (2-3 days/month), and local travel between sites as needed.
\n- Adhere to uniform and hospital dress code requirements.
