Job Summary

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in environments where patients need intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather comprehensive information from patients, families, and other healthcare professionals to create a complete understanding of the patient's needs.
  • Analyze and synthesize assessment data to determine relevant diagnoses or conditions.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes.
  • Formulate a care plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve desired outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with patients and families.
  • Execute the care plan, ensuring a safe environment and coordinating efforts with patients, families, and the care team.
  • Assess processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, reflecting on personal performance and staying updated on knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate effectively across all practice areas, collaborating with patients, families, and the interprofessional team.
  • Utilize clinical inquiry and integrate the best available evidence into practice.
  • Apply evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to critical care nursing, ensuring care is tailored to the patient's age and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensing.

Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly use speech for oral communication.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing between 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Regularly utilize vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Frequently use smell to identify odors.
  • Regularly use hearing to receive oral communication and detect alarms or machinery issues.
  • Occasionally lift or move objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasionally assist in lifting or moving patients.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
  • Occasional driving; rare crawling and running.

  • Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
