Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years OR RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity is available for a Registered Nurse specializing in the Operating Room to provide critical patient care in the preoperative and postoperative phases. This role requires a compassionate and detail-oriented professional who will serve as the patient advocate and ensure seamless coordination of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all aspects of patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures
  • Serve as patient advocate, maintaining safety and comfort throughout surgical experience
  • Collaborate with surgical team members to ensure effective communication and care delivery
  • Participate in department quarterly education sessions to maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge
  • Take call as required to provide continuous patient support

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Valid RN license with Operating Room (OR) nursing experience
  • Strong understanding of perioperative nursing principles and patient care standards
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Excellent communication and critical thinking skills
  • Commitment to ongoing education and professional development

Schedule:

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8-hour shifts
  • On-call responsibilities included

This contract position is located in a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital within the serene Northeast Kingdom of Vermont, near the small town on the Canadian border.
