Three Autism Support Interventionist positions are available to support students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in specialized and inclusive K-12 school settings across Carbon and Lehigh Counties, Pennsylvania. These contract roles follow the current school year schedule, from ASAP through approximately June 12, 2026.
Responsibilities include delivering one-on-one or small group support that helps students meet academic, behavioral, and social-emotional goals. Candidates will implement behavior intervention plans (BIPs), collect data on progress and behaviors, assist during transitions and sensory breaks, and use evidence-based interventions such as ABA, PECS, visual schedules, and social stories. Providing personal care assistance and maintaining a structured, safe classroom environment are also key components of this position. Strong collaboration with teachers, therapists, and other special education staff is essential for consistency and effective communication.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Bachelors degree in Education, Psychology, ABA, Social Behavior, or a related field; candidates with an Associates degree plus a minimum of 1 year (preferably 3 years) of experience working with students with autism or behavioral challenges will also be considered
- Demonstrated understanding of autism spectrum disorders and behavioral intervention techniques
- Ability to remain calm and respond appropriately during behavioral incidents such as elopement or aggression
- Basic computer proficiency for documentation and communication purposes
- Reliability, professionalism, and strong teamwork skills to maintain boundaries in challenging situations
Work hours range from 32.5 to 35 per week. Locations may include several schools and specialized programs within Carbon and Lehigh Counties.
