Prepare patients for clinic visit: greet and escort patient to exam room, obtain vitals, update medications and allergies in the electronic medical record.
Promote teamwork, and a positive attitude
Practice AIDET
Document accurately in all areas of the electronic medical record
Promote wellness by providing patient educational materials, communicating physicians’ advice and instructions to the patient and/or family and assess the patient and/or family understanding of the instructions and information.
Communicate to patient test results, and return phone calls in a timely manner.
Coordinate triage patient calls, take appropriate action including scheduling urgent appointments, and escalate complex situations to providers.
Review, and assess Illinois Prescription Monitor Program, check test results including MRI, CT, X-rays, urine drug screens, and conduct 48 hours preparation before patient appointments.
Complete forms and work status.
Perform prior authorization for medications and braces
Collect urine drug samples, CLIA waived, and oral swab.
Draw blood and run centrifuge machine in preparation for regenerative medicine therapies
Prepare patients and the ultrasound machine for in-office injections
Calculate morphine milligram equivalent and medication release dates
Ability to assist with Telehealth visits
Conduct opioid risk tool
Conduct inventory
Promote infection control
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED certificate
CMA, RMA, and CCMA preferred or equivalent experience – prefer current state license or certification
Good communication and computer skills
Ability to operate multifunction copier
Strong ethical and moral character references
