INTRO: The Production Worker position consists of manufacturing plastic products for the utility, aviation, custom, and transportation markets. The position is important in our ability to diligently process our products and meet our daily production demands. Cross-training on various operations and equipment such as band saws, drill presses, pneumatic routers and drills, and other equipment is critical. Occasionally, will assist in operations that require the use of a pallet jack, will be required to lift 25+ pounds, and perform general upkeep of the area.
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential) –
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently such as bandsaws, handheld pneumatic drills and routers, grinders, drill presses, drill sleds, chop saws, etc.
- Ability to account for own work, including visual inspections of the product after each operation is completed.
- Able to perform various tasks/operations on products that are used in the utility, airline, and transportation industries.
- Provide feedback to supervision/management of any quality, safety, or training concerns in a timely manner.
- High attention to detail and ability to understand written and verbal instructions. These instructions are in the form of hands-on training, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, Part Pictures, etc. and are pertinent to the position.
- Responsible for clocking in and out tasks in our ERP system to track labor for the production cost of products.
- Responsible for clocking in and out accurately for entirety of shift.
- Participate in the company's Safety Program.
- Participate in company activities that correlate with our core values.
- Participate in the company's 5S program and continuous improvement that reflect our core values.
- Able to communicate effectively with fellow team members and supervision to ensure necessary job duties and requirements are fulfilled.
- Ensure timely line clearing is completed of finished goods.
- Collaborate with Material Control for correct staging of orders, completion of shipping documentation, and assist in loading shipments.
- Assist in labeling the boxes in the work cells, move out all finished goods, stage for shipping, and/or place parts in home locations.
- Assist supervision by mentoring new Production Workers in safety, quality, and efficiency in our processes.
- Complete advanced assembly, kitting/packaging, and documentation duties for various products.
- Assist Material Control in accurate inventory transactions of products (moving products electronically in our ERP System and physically).
- Other duties as assigned by supervision.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: (Essential) –
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
- Strong attention to quality and detail.
- Ability to communicate effectively through oral and written communications.
- Effectively able to problem solve.
- Able to stand for extended periods (10-hour shift).
- Perform basic math and read a tape measure.
- Able to work in a loud, fast-paced environment, with occasionally high temperatures.
- Forklift and pallet jack experience preferred.
- Able to lift 25-40 lbs. regularly.
- Ability to successfully work within a team environment.
