Pharmacist In Charge
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our long-term care pharmacy team. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with a strong clinical foundation and leadership skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Dispense and verify prescriptions for all medication types, including oral, topical, and parenteral.
- Compound prescriptions as needed to meet patient-specific requirements.
- Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and delivery drivers.
- Provide drug-related guidance and consultation to internal staff and nursing personnel.
- Ensure compliance with DEA regulations and manage Schedule II (C2) prescriptions.
- Oversee inventory management, including routine checks and expiration tracking.
- Coordinate shift coverage and communicate staff leave to Human Resources.
- Conduct performance evaluations and lead training sessions for pharmacy staff.
- Assist with billing issues and contribute to special pharmacy projects.
- Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure proper functionality of pharmacy equipment.
- Serve as secondary on-call contact and travel as needed to support operations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm)
- Active pharmacist license in good standing
- 2–5 years of experience in a long-term care pharmacy setting preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
Additional Information:
- Travel may be required based on operational needs.
- On-call responsibilities are shared among pharmacy leadership.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $70.00/hr.
