Pharmacist In Charge

Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pharmacist to join our long-term care pharmacy team. This role is ideal for a licensed pharmacist with a strong clinical foundation and leadership skills, who thrives in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dispense and verify prescriptions for all medication types, including oral, topical, and parenteral.
  • Compound prescriptions as needed to meet patient-specific requirements.
  • Supervise pharmacy staff including pharmacists, technicians, and delivery drivers.
  • Provide drug-related guidance and consultation to internal staff and nursing personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with DEA regulations and manage Schedule II (C2) prescriptions.
  • Oversee inventory management, including routine checks and expiration tracking.
  • Coordinate shift coverage and communicate staff leave to Human Resources.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and lead training sessions for pharmacy staff.
  • Assist with billing issues and contribute to special pharmacy projects.
  • Maintain facility cleanliness and ensure proper functionality of pharmacy equipment.
  • Serve as secondary on-call contact and travel as needed to support operations.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (BSPharm)
  • Active pharmacist license in good standing
  • 2–5 years of experience in a long-term care pharmacy setting preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

Additional Information:

  • Travel may be required based on operational needs.
  • On-call responsibilities are shared among pharmacy leadership.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $66.00 - $70.00/hr.
