Position Summary:
The Preschool Teacher is responsible for creating a warm, nurturing, and educational environment for children ages 35 years. This position involves planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth, and maintaining a safe and engaging classroom that supports each childs learning journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum & Instruction
- Develop and implement daily lesson plans that align with state early childhood standards and program goals (e.g., Creative Curriculum, HighScope, etc.).
- Use a variety of teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles and developmental needs.
- Incorporate hands-on activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, science, and creative expression.
Classroom Environment & Safety
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom and learning environment.
- Ensure that all licensing, health, and safety regulations are met at all times.
- Supervise children at all times, ensuring a secure and positive environment.
Child Development & Assessment
- Observe, document, and assess childrens progress and behaviors using approved assessment tools.
- Communicate regularly with families about their childs development and milestones.
- Support social-emotional growth through positive guidance and conflict resolution techniques.
Collaboration & Professionalism
- Work collaboratively with assistant teachers and support staff to maintain a cohesive classroom team.
- Attend staff meetings, professional development trainings, and family engagement events.
- Demonstrate professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to the mission and values of the center.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associate or Bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred. CDA (Child Development Associate) accepted.
- Experience: Minimum of one year experience working with preschool-aged children in a licensed childcare setting.
- Certifications:
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- TB test and background check clearance as required by licensing.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Frequent standing, bending, and sitting on the floor with children.
